Mentoring

Mentoring from Morneau Family Law & Legal Innovation Vision

Over the course of my career, I have learned many lessons. Some I learned through the guidance and wisdom of others. Most I learned through the mistakes I made. This caused me to ask myself the questions about what I wish I knew early in my career that may have had an impact and influenced me in a positive way.

Mentoring

I wanted to concentrate this energy, so I offer young professionals with an open mind an opportunity to gain insight into the lessons I had to learn through experience, which include:

  • The importance of self-discovery at an early stage.
  • The importance of growth, self-awareness, and evolution both personally and professionally.
  • The importance of understanding your own value and how to communicate it.
  • Wellness and balance.
  • Overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome.
  • How to align your passion and values with your professional pursuits.
  • How to communicate in conflict with an emphasis on dispute and conflict resolution.

These are lessons rarely explored in any course of academic studies. They are the things that we always hear are important, but find that much of this is simply lip service. The objective in my mentoring is to open a conversation, explore ideas, share wisdom and tap into the person that few of us know we can be, especially early in our careers.
